We are proud to share the recent publication of a study conducted at the Centre Hospitalier de la Côte Basque (Bayonne, France) evaluating the use of TenaTac® during major minimally invasive lung resections. The clinical study demonstrated that TenaTac significantly reduced prolonged air leaks after major pulmonary resection.
“TenaTac® reduces the incidence of prolonged air leak and supports faster recovery after major lung surgery.” – Dr. Caroline Rivera, Thoracic Surgery Department, Centre Hospitalier de la Côte Basque
Key findings:
- Significant reduction of prolonged air leak (>5 days): 3% with TenaTac® vs. 37% in the control group (p=0.0004)
- Shorter duration of air leakage and drainage: on average 36 hours less
- Reduced hospital stay: trend toward earlier discharge
- Safe and effective: no increase in complications or mortality
These results highlight TenaTac® as a safe, cost-effective, and clinically valuable solution for thoracic surgery.
